How to perform a combination of eighth notes and sixteenth notes in the simple and compound measures. The eighth notes and sixteenth notes can be combined. For example, in a simple measure, a group of four sixteenth notes equals one beat. You can delete one or more sixteenth notes in order to create new le-rythmes. For example, if the second sixteenth note is removed, we obtain: an eighth note + two sixteenth notes. If the fourth sixteenth note is removed, we obtain: two sixteenth notes + an eighth note. We can do the same for the compound measures that include six sixteenth notes in one beat. For example, if the second sixteenth note is removed, we obtain: one eighth note + four sixteenth notes. If the last sixteenth note of the group is removed, we obtained: four sixteenth notes + one eighth note. The compound measure is longer than a simple measure, and offers more possible combinations. For example within a beat, the le-rythme: 1 eighth note + two sixteenth notes + 1 eighth note. Or this rhtyhm: two sixteenth notes plus two eighth notes, or: two sixteenth notes + two eighth notes, or finally: two sixteenth notes + 1 eighth note + two sixteenth notes.
