Dynamics

How to interpret dynamics in music

Description

Discrete or imposing, the dynamics offer a large range of intensities to the notes.
The dynamics indicate the level of intensity that must be applied to sounds or musical sentences. They are indicated by abbreviations or letters that will cover all intensities from the lowest to the highest. For example: ppp = pianississimo, pp = pianissimo p = piano, mp = mezzo piano, mf = mezzo-forte, f = forte, ff = fortissimo, fff = fortissimo.
The sign seen on the video means that we should gradually increase or decrease sound or group of notes. When it is increasing, we are "crescendo" and when it is decreasing, we are "decrescendo".
