The clefs and the note values

Description

Symbols and placement of the clefs and note values in a classical stave.
the treble clef is usually used for instruments or voices in the high register, the Fa clef for bass instruments or voices and the C clef for the midrange instruments or voices.
A key change implies a change of the name of notes. For example the serie of seven notes in a treble clef: C, D, E, F, G, A, B and C, will become: E, F, G, A, B, C, D and E, in a bass clef.

The note values are signs that determine the length of notes in time.
There are seven note values that are: from the longest to shortest: the whole note is four pulses, the half note is two pulses, the quarter note is one pulse, the eighth note is half beat, the sixteenth note is a quarter of pulsation, the thirtysecond note is a eighth of a pulse and the sixtyfourth note is a sixteenth of a pulse.
So a whole note equals two half notes, four quarter notes, eight sixteenth notes, sixteen thirtysecond notes or thirty-two sixtyfourth notes.
