The quarter note and the eighth note

Description

Duration and situation of the quarter note and eighth notes in a simple and compound measure.
The quarter note is located on each beat of the measure.
The quarter note is one pulse long. We will have four quarter notes in order to fill a simple four beat measure. It is located on the first, second, third and fourth beats.
the equivalent of the quarter note in a compound measure, is the dotted quarter note.

With a value of a half beat, we will need two eighth notes to compete with a quarter note.
The eighth note is half the value of a quarter note. We will require eight eighth notes to fill a simple measure of four beats, and twelve eighth notes in order to fill a compound measure of four beats.
